Ivory

Ivory makes me sad.
I think of the animals,
lying in dust and blood..
their faces... their faces.
Someday will they haunt our history books?
Will we visit taxidermied versions of elephants in a museum?
A baby rhino preserved in a jar!
All for men's greed...
we fail at protecting the lesser species...
maybe we are the lesser species
